Anne Arundel County’s Food and Nutrition Service Director, Jodi Risse, started Food 4 Thought in August 2008 to spread the word about nutrition education. Food 4 Thought airs on Anne Arundel County’s Educational Television Network. |

National School Breakfast Week Displays |
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the School Breakfast program and its contribution to the health and well-being of school children. First launched in 1989, it was created by the School Nutrition Association to raise awareness of the availability of school breakfast programs for all children and is celebrated every year during the first week of March.

Healthier U.S. School Challenge Award Ceremony at New Hampshire Estates Elementary
in Montgomery Co.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) honored New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in Montgomery County on March 6, 2009. The event, part of the Healthier U.S. School Challenge, recognized schools that took specific steps to improve their nutrition programs and addressed obesity. |
